The jig Neil M Grant was devised by Christine Grant of RSCDS Forres Branch. The dance has been performed in St Andrews by the official demonstration dancers as part of the release of 'Book 49' in which the dance was published. Multiple branches have enjoyed the dance, and this video aims to put together those which are on Youtube to pay tribute to the dance and its deviser Christine who is a much loved teacher and chair of the branch. Thanks to the RSCDS Summer School demonstration dancers (Red Barn Studios) as well as the other videos from Summer School, The Alba team at Newcastle SCD Festival, and Greensboro branch. This brand new dance The Lass from Stonehaven was written by RSCDS Forres teacher Neil M Grant for teacher Christine Grant. Christine grew up on the East coast of Scotland in the town of Stonehaven. This dance was premiered on 26 July by local demonstration dancers as a birthday surprise for Christine at her Charity Dance in July 2024 being held in Nairn.
